Impact of insecticide resistance on the efficacy of malaria vector control and on feasibility of managing resistance

Impact of insecticide resistance on the efficacy of malaria vector control and on feasibility of managing resistance

Objectives

1. To determine the impact of IRS and LLINs on malaria disease burden and on transmission in relation to the presence of insecticide resistance in the main vector species

2. To assess and identify trends in the insecticide resistance status and the underlying mechanisms in the main malaria vector species

3. To study the spread of insecticide resistance genes in relation to the interventions and assess the underlying general gene flow and monitor trends in vector population structure in relation to the intervention
